JBM Music Lessons: Unleashing Your Musical Potential
Music lessons are one-on-one instruction taught by a trained music teacher to a student wishing to learn a musical instrument. Music teachers are not only experts in their field, but they also take great pride in their craft and strive to help every student reach their full potential. Music lessons are offered as part of amateur and recreational music instruction, as well as professional training contexts (such as a bachelor of music or master of music degree program).

James Baker is a talented pianist who uses his expertise to teach his students JBM Music Lessons how to play the piano and guitar in a contemporary way. He focuses on modern keyboard techniques, functional chord theory and improvisation to help his students flourish into the best musicians they can be.
In the past he has worked as a keyboardist for the band ‘Ashley Mitchell Band’, which performed at John Bassett Moore Intermediate School on May 14. He also performs regularly at the Grandview in New York City and was an arranger/ instructor for the Webster High School Marching Panthers for 5 years, and currently serves as the percussion coordinator and music theory 1 & AP music theory teacher at Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts in Rochester NY.
In addition to performing and teaching, he also writes music for young ensembles, and has had many of his pieces performed in Germany, Chula Vista California, and the World Champion Drumline from Perishing’s own Band at Houghton University. His percussion arrangements and drumline cadences have been purchased by Tresona Music, and his music has been featured on the SciMax Radio station. He has also served as a guest lecturer on entrepreneurship for the music department at Rochester Community College.
Another great feature of some of the best guitar lessons is that they will take a look at the fingering pattern for each chord. This is a key aspect in understanding the way that the chords are constructed and can help to speed up the progression of skills. This is also a great way for students to see how the chords can be played with both hands, and this will prepare them for more advanced playing.
Once a student has mastered the basic chords, they can start to play simple songs and begin to work on their lead guitar skills. This can be done by introducing scales and demonstrating how they can be applied to both chords and single notes. Depending on how complex the scales are, they may need to be broken down into smaller sections and taught in stages. It is also a good idea to introduce the students to intervals and how they relate to chords, improvisation and fretboard spacing.
There are also some great app based guitar lesson apps out there such as Yousician, which offers both AI and video based guitar lessons. The lessons are well structured and progress in a logical manner, which makes it easy for students of any age or ability to learn. They are also a good option for people who like to use their phones or tablets as they can take the lessons with them wherever they go. Another great feature of Yousician is that it allows users to practise with real songs rather than muzak, which can be really useful for improving their guitar playing. There are also a number of other app based guitar lessons that can be found by searching online, but it is a good idea to check the reviews before purchasing any app.
